Recipe Round-up: Gluten-free Recipes

In honor of my best friend whose birthday is on Monday, and who also happens to have a gluten allergy, my first weekly recipe round-up is for some yummy gluten-free recipes.  Celiac Disease is an autoimmune disorder that causes a gluten intolerance resulting in various gastrointestinal issues. At first I remember she struggled to adjust her diet but now it is a seamless part of her life.  Surprisingly, you can find gluten is hiding in many dishes and food products that you wouldn’t expect such as steak seasonings, soy sauces, pickles, licorice…and even communion wafers! But all is not lost!  Below find some of the best gluten-free recipes on the net, in my humble opinion anyway. Continue reading

No Hassle Cheeseburgers and Hamburgers

Doesn’t this picture just make you salivate?!  Nothing shouts SUMMER like a hot juicy burger.  Burgers can be so individualized as you can top them with whatever you like.  Slap a runny  egg on there, why not?! How about some green chillies and mix up some chipotle mayo? Or keep it simple with a naked burger on a wholewheat bun.  The possibilities are endless. The best part about this recipe is that it only has a handful of ingredients and you most likely have them in your kitchen right this minute!  Let’s make some burgers! Continue reading

Healthy Chicken Soft Tacos

Summer is here and it’s time for another nutritious and delicious dish. This spin on tacos gives you a lighter, yet no less satisfying dinner option. Homemade Buttermilk Pancakes

However, when you are craving pancakes and you’ve run out of pancake mix (which is exactly what happened to me) this recipe will save you. This is the best scratchmade pancake recipe I have found and I think that is due to the use of self-rising flour and baking soda that makes the hotcakes so fluffy. Serve up with some yummy Easy Blueberry Syrup and you’ll be in heaven.

Herby Lamb Rump Steaks

My mouth is watering already! The herb butter in this recipe could be used with any cut of lamb but in this case I’ve used some lamb rump steaks. Your house will smell amazing and they go great with my Baked Potato Wedges.
